Bad news for those who often use to give free shipping "Free Super Saver Delivery" on their purchases on Amazon UK. Starting today Amazon does not do free shipping to Portugal and several kohl s careers other European countries. Without giving much explanation, Amazon is limited only to mention the change to the terms of the free shipping, that as of today (April 3) cease to apply for shipments to Belgium, Finland, Gibraltar, Iceland, kohl s careers Luxembourg, Netherlands , Poland, kohl s careers Sweden ... and unfortunately, Portugal. It will not be that many things will no longer compensate be bought there, but for lower value purchases will certainly be a factor that will compel redo the accounts; or at least to make you postpone some purchases so as to group the maximum possible product to monetize the cost of shipments. Too bad ... Amazon UK was one of my favorite places to shop for all kinds of products (games, books, etc.) and this change, even if it means only a 3 or 4 pounds more, it still be a pretty nasty attitude to international customers.
Lourenço April 3, 2014 at 12:07 Pimps! Okay, this is what I'll find a way to abuse them (is not that far ahead ...): does anyone know what is the legal basis for, the purchase is done in another country kohl s careers (the invoice comes from UK / LUX), allowing Amazon to collect VAT from Portugal? How does Amazon not having activity in PT, returns / pay VAT to the Portuguese kohl s careers state? Delete Reply
It is perfectly normal for this to happen. Although not leave England meets EU agreement on the part of the Schengen Area and its policies. Already in Computer Universe this also happens. You do what you do is the way things have to be done. As for the hit, if you're particular they try to make the arrangements. If you are self employed or company, the purchase is made without VAT and be you to declare the same to be able to submit expenses and internal costs. But someone more knowledgeable to confirm or disprove. Write off
Oh my ... so much ignorance. Amazon charges our VAT because ... to merchants of other countries that have more than X amount (I do not remember the value), are obliged to charge VAT in the country where the consumer is buying it ... is valid for amazon, and for computeruniverse among others (which many do not even ...) For, "says he said" is very pretty but no legislation is all very subjective and only based on personal experience. Went to investigate a little more and found this: The http://europa.eu/legislation_summaries/taxation/l31057_pt.htm called kohl s careers "the VAT directive" Apparently, this type of shopping is part of the "intra-Community acquisitions of goods in a Member kohl s careers State from another Member State; " (Bunch of thieves) But apparently, this policy is not applied by all companies (especially small ones) since I shop online I always paid the VAT of the country of origin. Case closed. Write off
Lately I have done is to compare prices between Amazon UK and Germany. When products are shipped directly from Germany, the shipping costs are sometimes kohl s careers cheaper compared with the UK. Delete Reply
Shipping costs from amazon uk (directly) are not only "3 or 4 pounds." Are at least a further 5.4 to a CD, 7.7 for books, games consoles and others. And buy things in the "market place" them as well go pro EBay. Delete Reply
Personally use the Amazon.uk, Amazon.de and Amazon.it. Already Amazon.fr Amazon.es and think are all more expensive. It's a shame that Amazon.uk excludes free shipping on orders above 25, but it is also true that Amazon recently did a review of the charges and was something predictable. Transportation costs aside, last week I made a order from Amazon.uk that came from the logistics center for Amazon Italy. In that order ( 172) paid a fee of 4.70 to use a virtual card MBnet, and they charged me + 1 for verification of coverage. Whenever kohl s careers used in MBnet payments, at different places, I've never been processing fees and 1 for this revision was borne retained kohl s careers but always returned, something that did not happen in buying Amazon.uk Note that paid in Pounds (leaving my bank to make automatic conversion), this to save 8, an amount that would pay more if you chose to pay in euro directly. In short the Amazon.uk will surely lose some importance, considering the list of excluded countries. I will certainly kohl s careers choose kohl s careers more often or by Amazon.de Amazon.it with similar rates. :) Reply Delete
I whenever I can, I buy them in a Community country by two years warranty. Do not
