Switzerland's World Cup blog Blog Archive Hopp Schweiz!
Last night took Switzerland against the reigning world champions from Italy, kohs and the atmosphere in the stadium could not be appealed. The strong support kohs given to Switzerland was also reciprocated in the form of a nice game of football from "Nati's" page. The Swiss are well laid out, and after 10 minutes thundered Inler the round Jabulani in from outside the area. A transformed team since Costa Rica fight had taken the Italians on the bed, and Lippi had a good match forehead wrinkles. The joy was short when Senderos (typically enough) fails in two duels, so Benaglio no chance against a cross-placed header. 1-1 and the game was indeed underway. Chances were plenty kohs of, and the game was played at a high pace. Switzerland can now take to the World Cup with a great deal of confidence, but I still think that players like Senderos and Behrami be passing places for Ziegler and Yakin. Senderos has really not been flashy, and he is currently the weakest Swiss.
